LoJ - Making Dreams Happen PDF Print E-mail

Before the one can dance upon the Courts of the Fae, it must all be built... This is the first article in a series about the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball.

Recently the Review staff had a chance to visit a remarkable place, a place where dreams are grown from the hard work of individuals laboring in concert to paint them onto the fabric of mundanity. This place is the nursery  for the young saplings of creativity, that lay scattered about the yard in a way most haphazard. Here they are nurtured, tended to and grown into the most remarkable of dreams, their care takers fleeting from place to place, ensuring that each gets the attention it deserves.  When they are done the saplings, now towering oaks of whimsy, are readied to be transplanted to the place of their unveiling, to the Faerie Court where all who have admittance might take part in the dream they offer.

What is this place? It is the workshop of the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade, a place filled people and crammed with the pieces needed to build a dream; and it will remain so until July 10th when all the pieces are brought together and the doors to the court open. The effort put into making this event come to life is astounding. Workshops are crammed into what space can be found, people working on costuming in one room, while in another sculptors add scrollwork to pillars, and in yet another artist gather in deep discussion, all of this overseen by a trio of cats, looking on from the piles of debris such an endeavor creates.

We at the Review where stunned by the how much work, how much talent and how many people it takes to make the magic real. The labor is indeed one of dedication and love and the Review is greatly looking forward to see this dream come to life.  If you are interested, doors to the Labyrinth of Jareth are opened at 8pm on Friday, July 10th, but only to those who have tickets; and it is located in Hollywood. Visit the Labyrinth of Jareth site at: http://www.labyrinthmasquerade.com/ for more information and ticketing.
